2026/27 - Go Auto Division 2/3
Optimist Junior Interclub Curling League Division 2 is for novice curlers between the ages of 9-17 looking to build on their skills and begin league play. Skill development and sportsmanship is the focus.
To be eligible for Divisions 2, all curlers must be a part of a junior curling program and be able to get the rock in play at least 50% of the time. The age range of league may vary based on skill and abilities. Please email the league at admin@optimistjuniorcurling.ca with any questions you may have.
Games are played most Sundays from October 25, 2026 to March 14, 2027. March 14 will be play downs, and will be a double header. All other dates are single draws. Most games are at noon. Games will be played at Cloverdale Curling Club, Delta Thistle Curling Club, Langley Curling Centre, and Tunnel Town Curling Club.
Players register individually, but should have already spoken with their junior coordinator, as the junior coordinators are doing their best to form teams and find a team for everyone.
There will be a coaches meeting on October 21st at 7 pm, at Cloverdale Curling Club. Please be prepared to send a representative for each team to this meeting. This year we are asking each team to have a team volunteer that is willing to do SOMETHING to help the league run. This might be helping with the year-end wind-up, taking team photos, entering scores on Curling IO at the end of each game, helping to make sure that we're leaving the clubs as tidy as we found them, etc. Tasks vary, and we are sure that there is a way that each team can contribute to helping the league run smoothly.
Before the first game, we will have a 15 minute meeting for all participants, parents, coaches, players, to run over how each game-day works and general house keeping tasks.
Calendar: All games are scheduled to start at noon, unless otherwise noted. New this year - we are introducing TWO cross over games which will see half of the OJICL Div 2 teams go play a game at Royal City against teams from the Vancouver-Richmond-New West league and half of the teams from that league come play at a Div 2 club. Each team in Div 2 will travel once to Vancouver et al, and each team from the Vancouver et al league will travel once to Div 2. This will give the teams a chance to meet other junior curlers in the region and increase the number of teams they play over the course of the season.
